Patty Schnyder was forced to dig deep in her semifinal match against
French teenager Tatiana Golovin before booking a place in the final of
the Uncle Tobys Hardcourts with a three set win.
The second seed fought back from a set and a break down to triumph 3-6
6-4 6-3 over her 16-year-old opponent, who jumped an astonishing 328
ranking spots last year.
A confident Schnyder said she was pleased to have such a difficult
semifinal encounter ahead of her first face-to-face meeting with Stosur.
"I'm happy that I
had a longer match,"
"I'm playing well and I had to step up my game because she (Golovin) was
hitting the ball really good today." |
